Vista Senior Living *

This 11 storey, 181-unit building is located on Admirals Rd, on the former site of Esquimalt Legion Branch 172. In terms of construction, it is one of the few concrete and steel buildings in Victoria. Praxis has been involved with this project for over a decade - it is really gratifying to finally see it come to life. The site is very small and presented a number of challenges. When the project is complete, the ground plane will be enhanced and pedestrian friendly, adding to the recent revitalization of this particular area. The main floor of Vista will have a meaningful social connection to the street with a varied tenancy. There will be a new home for the Legion branch, as well as a 60 seat theatre, and 2 commercial spaces. 48 memory care studio units will cater to seniors with Alzheimer’s disease and other types of dementia, and 95 units will be independent + supportive suites. 38 condominiums will be located on the upper storeys of the building. One of the truly special features of this project is the top storey. The 11th floor salon will feature 360° views, and various common features and amenities including a dining room, tea and coffee bar, piano lounge, sports bar, games room, library, bistro, art studio, and covered outdoor patio lounge and dining area. Some of the green features of the building include a transpired solar collector on the South face.
