Esquimalt Fire Hall Expansion

Praxis was engaged by the Township of Esquimalt to design and oversee the construction of an addition to the existing Fire Rescue Apparatus Bay, located in the Esquimalt Public Safety Building.  The expansion provided space for a rescue vehicle that was previously housed off-site. By creating a space where all vehicles are located, operations have been streamlined and response times have been greatly improved. As a result of the additional space, there is also more room for some aspects of training which were not previously possible. One of the more challenging aspects of this project was that the existing facility remained operational throughout the period of construction. The project was carefully designed to minimize impact on existing operations. Clear communication with stakeholders created a framework to ensure there would be no interruption to service.
