The Proxima

The Proxima is located on a prominent landmark site in the heart of the community.

The project will provide 89 new homes for Esquimalt’s thriving community, which is expected to see a significant increase in population in the coming years. Five underutilized sites will be transformed to accommodate two 5 and 6 storey residential buildings which will reflect the sloping topography of the site. The buildings are connected by an atrium which leads to an interior courtyard. A diverse mix of dwelling sizes and types will include 84 suites + 5 townhouses located at street level. The main entrance at the corner will feature generous glazing and a warm, welcoming feel along with a large sunny plaza for lingering and socializing. The urban edge will be transformed to a vibrant interface that reflects a real human scale.

In order to help reduce environmental impact and dependency on single occupant vehicle use, the developer is providing incentives for alternative modes of transportation. The site is well located near transit and services making it very walkable. A 1 year transit pass will be provided to residents. Cycling is also a great alternative to driving – the development will include ample class 1 bike parking, including space for cargo bikes and infrastructure to support e-bikes. The developer is purchasing a MODO carshare vehicle which will be located on site and will be providing carshare memberships to 100% of the residents. EV infrastructure will be provided for all parking stalls.
